Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th, 1991. She is an American singer-songwriter and the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her EP Pho. It was here that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks on the internet in 2012 when she launched her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued uploading her songs online, including her independent single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes, from Sweat It Out, on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time and wanted her to perform on Rihanna reference. She was officially signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was a track she sang together with Cozz for The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In the month of October she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017 and also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, Ari Lennox performed on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The debut single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream came out in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. In November, she released her singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013, she dropped No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February her music video to the song was released. The track has garnered more than 3 million YouTube views in just one week. In December of 2018, she was a supporting act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
